New members of U-CARE’s executive board

U-CARE welcomes Mudassir Imran Mustafa, Silja Mattadóttir Eklund, Soorej Jose Puthoopparambil, Katie Winkle, Joanne Woodford, and Mattias Öhman who all have been appointed as new members of U-CARE’s executive board.

Soorej Jose Puthoopparambil is a researcher and lecturer in Global health. In his research, he focuses on migration and health. Soorej has also acted as a consultant for the WHO in questions on health of refugees and migrants.

Mattias Öhman is a researcher in economics at the Institute for Housing and Urban Research. Associated with Uppsala Center for Fiscal Studies and the Department of Women's and Children's Health and teaches at the Department of Economics. Mattias main research interest is environmental effects on health.

Katie Winkle is Assistant Senior Lecturer at the Department of Information Technology where she works with social robotics with specialisation in trustworthy human-robot interaction. Among other projects, Katie is currently working on diversity in social robot design with applications in community health and education.

Joanne Woodford is Assistant Senior Lecturer and a researcher in Clinical Psychology and Health Care Sciences at the Department of Women's and Children's Health. Joanne’s main ​​research focus is in the field of informal caregiving and family mental health.

Silja Mattadóttir Eklund is a student representative from the master's programme in Global Health.

Mudassir Imran Mustafa is a researcher with a multidisciplinary background, specialised in design of digital infrastructures and digital practices. Since 2021, Mudassir is leading the developer team working with the U-Care-Portal.

They will, together with the other members of U-CARE’s executive board, lead and develop U-CARE, be responsible for its economy, strengthen the cooperation with different knowledge branches, and review U-CARE studies. The members are appointed for a three-year term.
