Associate Professor Erik Olsson was awarded the ENLIGHT Teaching & Learning Award 2022 at a prize ceremony in Göttingen last week.

Erik Olsson has developed the course ‘Innovation Game: A Summer School Applying Serious Game Design in Health Care and Education’ for the ENLIGHT University Network, together with teachers from Uppsala university and the partner universities Ghent University and University of Tartu.

– I am very happy to receive the appreciation that the award implies. We already know that we have a good and popular course, but this gives us additional motivation and self-confidence, says Erik.

From the jury’s motivation: Through its inclusion of different disciplinary perspectives, the course introduces methods and terminology for how entrepreneurship and innovative thinking can be applied to understand a problem, generate an idea, outline a goal and find a creative solution and value for the end-user.

The ENLIGHT project has obtained funding from the European Commission to develop new models and methodologies for education and research adapted for the global challenges of today. Participants from the nine universities that constitute the network recently gathered in Göttingen, Germany, for the ENLIGHT Teaching & Learning Conference 2022.
