Johanna Patriksson Karlsson has previously worked as a research secretary and has experience of assisting researchers in literature searches and with the production of statistics in research projects related to health.

Research administrator
In her position as a research administrator, Johanna will, among other things, work with the administration within a number of research projects focused on informal caregivers and people living with chronic health conditions.

– The project that I mainly will work with is INVOLVERA. Among other tasks, I will be involved in coordinating the design and development of two ‘workbooks’ for people with dementia and informal caregivers. I will also help with general research administration tasks, for example, setting meeting agendas and keeping meeting minutes.

Experience of research projects
Before joining U-CARE, Johanna worked as a research secretary at the University Hospital's research center in Örebro. There she worked with assisting researchers with different research projects, for example a systematic literature review on changes in the placenta among pregnant women and a project about how high blood pressure is diagnosed and treated in primary care. She holds a bachelor's degree in public health science from the University of Skövde and a master's degree in public health epidemiology from Karolinska Institutet. She has a broad interest in human health.

– My interest has broadened over the years. In the beginning, I was more interested in nutrition and physical activity. But the more I have learned about human health, the broader my interest in health has become.

Italian vegetarian food.

Likes to cook and eat food
Johanna says that she has a great interest in food, both cooking and eating.

– I like food from different cultures as long as it is made authentically and is well cooked. Preferably Italian, Japanese and Asian in general, and especially vegetarian food.

Wandering in the nature is also something Johanna likes to do. Until some time ago, she used to be out with her dog, who has unfortunately passed away recently.

– It's so fun to see when they are happy and out running. In a few years I might get a new dog.
